Key Responsibilities
- Accounts Payable: Process invoices for operating expenses, reconcile and record credit card transactions in a timely and accurate manner.
- Insurance Company Payables: Reconcile and pay invoices/statements for agency bill insurance transactions, ensuring timely and efficient processing.
- Accounts Receivable: Record deposits of commission and customer payments, maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records.
- Payroll: Record journal entries in a timely and accurate manner, supporting the payroll function and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Client Support: Respond to client inquiries and provide accounting-related support, delivering exceptional service and building strong relationships with our clients.
- Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare draft financial statements on a monthly basis, reviewing and reconciling general ledger balances to subsidiary ledger detail as required.
- Backup Support: Provide backup support for direct bill commission invoicing, ensuring seamless and efficient processing.
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:
- Accounting Experience: At least 1 year of experience in accounting for an independent insurance agency, with a strong understanding of financial principles and practices.
- Applied Epic or AMS360 Experience: At least 1 year of experience working with Applied Epic or AMS360, with a strong proficiency in navigating these systems and applying your knowledge to drive business results.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and experience with accounting software and systems.
