• Context: Supports Client Simplica NextGen Copay, a new variablecopay group plan that offers members copayonly pricing with no deductibles or coinsurance, providing a clear, flat price for every service. The plan emphasizes predictability and value by tying copay levels to provider quality; copays are lower at locations offering higherquality care. It leverages the proprietary Find Care digital platform to guide members toward highquality options and improve health outcomes, and it simplifies administration by ensuring members see the exact price up front, reducing claims confusion.
• Role Focus: The engineer will build Streamlit applications within Databricks to support this digitalfirst plan, including features that pull data from the data lake, transform it and egress it to PostgreSQL and APIs. The apps will likely support the Find Care experience and deliver clear copay information and provider ratings. PostgreSQL is huge for understanding performance and tuning DB as needed. New health plan that is being offered with more visibility. Bonus: someone who can communicate, more polished to present at executive levels at times.
• Requirements: Strong Python and Streamlit development skills; experience creating userfacing apps in Databricks; ability to egress data from data lake to PostgreSQL and API endpoints; familiarity with AIenabled search or recommendation tools is a plus. Since the plan is marketed to employer groups and has executive visibility, the candidate must be polished and wellspoken, comfortable presenting to leadership (including CIO/CDO Maggie Helms) and working closely with business stakeholders. Understanding of variable copay health plan design and valuebased provider networks would be beneficial, but not a requirement.
