Job Summary: Information Investigator III
As an Information Investigator III, you'll play a critical role in spearheading ad-hoc item analysis and developing fundamental data solutions that drive a deeper understanding of Walmart's customers. You'll work closely with our Product Supervisory crew to identify new product opportunities and propose flexible solutions that meet the evolving needs of our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Analysis and Insights: Clean and prepare data for analysis by eliminating errors, identifying exceptions, and transforming data into a format that can be analyzed.
- Exploratory Data Analysis: Investigate data and analyze it for insights using statistical methods to test hypotheses, identify trends, and make predictions.
- Programming and Development: Generate programming languages, particularly Python, to support data analysis and insights.
- Problem-Solving and Decision-Making: Approach problems logically and make informed decisions based on data analysis.
- Data Quality and Accuracy: Ensure accuracy in data analysis with meticulous attention to detail and recognize anomalies or mistakes in data.
- Communication and Collaboration: Clearly communicate findings, both written and orally, to non-technical stakeholders, including creating dashboards and reports that impart insights to stakeholders using tools like Power BI/Scene/Excel.
- Solution Development: Develop solutions to business problems using data-driven approaches.
- Collaboration and Teamwork: Collaborate with various developers, designers, and management heads, understanding their needs, and furnishing them with meaningful data insights.
- Data Ethics and Governance: Understand the ethical implications of data use, storage, and analysis, particularly concerning privacy and security.
Essential Qualifications
- Strong Exploratory Data Analysis Skills: Ability to make insightful, data-driven proposals and solutions.
- Programming Skills: Proficiency in languages used to manipulate data and draw insights from large datasets (SQL, Python, etc.).
- Data Quality and Support: Experience providing end-client support and investigating data quality issues.
- Industry Knowledge: Related knowledge in the retail or financial business areas.
- Communication and Influencing Skills: Convincing, influential oral and written communication skills and ability to build strong functional relationships.
- Adaptability and Flexibility: Comfortable with shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced Degree: Advanced degree in a relevant field (e.g., computer science, statistics, mathematics).
- Industry Experience: Experience working in the retail or financial industry.
- Data Visualization Tools: Experience with data visualization tools like Power BI, Tableau, or D3.js.
