We're seeking an innovative and experienced Product Manager to lead the development of YouTube Podcasts Understanding and Search. As a key member of our team, you will drive the growth and improvement of our podcast offerings, enhancing the user experience and expanding the reach of podcast creators. About the Role
In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to guide products from conception to launch, connecting the technical and business worlds. You will analyze complex problems, identify solutions, and develop a deep understanding of user needs and preferences. Your expertise will help shape the product direction, inform ranking and metrics, and drive the development of new features and technologies.
Responsibilities
- Develop a deep understanding of user value and apply careful analysis to identify solutions and set the roadmap for Podcasts Understanding and Search
- Define and shape product direction, partnering closely with Podcasts Search and Discovery leads
- Understand ranking and metrics to navigate complex prioritization decisions and weigh trade-offs
- Collaborate with multiple teams, including cross-functional teams across YouTube, to ensure that Podcasts corpus understanding and ranking changes are well understood
- Develop and lead a disciplined product development process, driving product insights and outstanding execution
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
- 3 years of experience in product management or related technical role
- 1 year of experience taking technical products from conception to launch
- Experience querying data to make recommendations and decisions
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or PhD in a technology or business-related field
- 2 years of experience in a business function or role (e.g., strategic marketing, business operations, consulting)
- 2 years of experience in a role preparing and delivering technical presentations to senior leadership
- 2 years of experience working cross-functionally with engineering, UX/UI, sales, finance, and other stakeholders
- 1 year of experience in software development or engineering
- Experience with search systems and writing SQL
