Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Part-Time Remote Tutor to join our team of educational professionals. As a Part-Time Remote Tutor, you will have the opportunity to work with students in a variety of academic and test prep subjects, communicate with families regarding student progress, and participate in ongoing professional development. Key Responsibilities
- Tutoring Students: Provide high-quality online tutoring to students in a variety of academic and test prep subjects, including STEM and foreign languages (specifically, Chinese). This will account for approximately 80% of your work schedule.
- Communicating with Families: Communicate with families regarding student progress, make recommendations for student success, and provide ongoing support to ensure student achievement. This will account for approximately 10% of your work schedule.
- Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development and subject expansion to stay up-to-date on the latest teaching methods and best practices. This will account for approximately 5% of your work schedule.
- Session Preparation: Prepare for sessions using Revolution Prep provided materials to ensure effective and engaging tutoring sessions. This will account for approximately 5% of your work schedule.
Requirements and Qualifications
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree: A Bachelor's degree is required; advanced degrees are welcomed.
- Teaching or Tutoring Experience: Previous teaching or tutoring experience is desired but not required.
- Subject Expertise: Expertise in STEM and/or AP academic subjects and foreign languages (specifically, Chinese). If you can tutor in subjects such as AP Physics, AP Computer Science, AP Statistics, AP Calculus, and AP Chemistry, you may be eligible for a higher starting rate.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with students, families, and colleagues.
- Technical Requirements: High-speed internet with the ability to connect via ethernet cable, as well as a clean, quiet, professional setting for online sessions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced Degrees: Advanced degrees in education or related fields are highly valued.
- Teaching Certification: Teaching certification or licensure is preferred.
- Experience with Diverse Learners: Experience working with students with diverse learning needs and abilities.

Schedule Requirements
As a Part-Time Remote Tutor, you will be required to:
- Post Availability: Post at least 16 hours of adjunct prime-time availability on your calendar each week, with at least 8 hours on weekends.
- Tutoring Hours: Tutor for at least 12 hours per week, delivered on weekday afternoons/evenings and weekends.
- Prime-Time Hours: Availability must be posted within the adjunct prime-time blocks listed below:
- Monday-Thursday: 4:00 to 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time
- Saturday: 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Eastern Time
- Sunday: 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time
Compensation and Benefits
