Workwarp is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented START Service Technician to join our remote team. As a START Service Technician, you will embark on an exciting 16-week intensive training program designed to equip you with the technical expertise and certifications needed to excel in the rapidly evolving electric vehicle (EV) industry. Upon successful completion of the program, you will be employed at a Tesla Service Center, working with cutting-edge technology and contributing to a sustainable future.
About the START Program
The START program is a comprehensive 16-week training initiative that combines in-class theory, hands-on labs, and self-paced learning to develop your technical skills and soft skills. You will work collaboratively with a team, engage in instructor-led training, and shadow experienced technicians at Tesla service centers to gain practical experience. Our program is designed to foster a "safety first" culture, and we prioritize your growth and development throughout the training period.
Key Responsibilities
- Dedicate a minimum of 40 hours per week to training, including active participation in service center shadowing for practical experience
- Engage in instructor-led training to develop a comprehensive understanding of Tesla vehicles and their unique technologies
- Collaborate within a team environment during both lab and lecture activities, promoting a culture of teamwork and mutual support
- Prioritize safety by adhering to established protocols at all times, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others
- Maintain organization by ensuring proper tooling management, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity
- Effectively handle multiple priorities, organize your workload, and meet weekly curriculum objectives and deadlines
- Uphold a consistent and professional rapport with instructors, seeking feedback and guidance to optimize your learning experience
Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following essential qualifications:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Possess a valid driver's license
- Be willing to relocate upon successful completion of the program and accept employment at a Tesla Service Center within 30 days of graduation
- Be capable of lifting up to 60 pounds and working in a physically demanding environment
- Demonstrate basic computer skills, including navigating web browsers and using standard applications such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Follow verbal and written instructions with attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and quality in your work
- Work effectively in a team-based environment, promoting a culture of collaboration and mutual respect
- Maintain a strong focus on safety, adhering to established protocols and prioritizing the well-being of yourself and others
Preferred Qualifications
While not mandatory, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
- Existing automotive experience, particularly in EV technology or related fields
- Familiarity with Tesla vehicles or other EV manufacturers
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
