About the Role
As a Senior Staff Software Engineer at GEICO, you will play a critical role in building high-performance, low-maintenance, and zero-downtime platforms and applications. You will be responsible for providing leadership to engineering teams, utilizing best practices for Voice and related technologies, and owning complete solutions across the entire life cycle. You will also be expected to influence and build vision with product managers, team members, customers, and other engineering teams to solve complex problems and build enterprise-class business applications.
Key Responsibilities

- Own complete solutions across the entire life cycle, utilizing strong problem-solving abilities
- Influence and build vision with product managers, team members, customers, and other engineering teams to solve complex problems and build enterprise-class business applications
- Hold accountability for the quality, usability, and performance of solutions
- Lead design sessions and code reviews to elevate the quality of engineering across the organization
- Mentor junior team members in Voice and related technologies
- Share best practices and improve processes within and across teams, utilizing documentation and knowledge-sharing sessions
- Understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions, analyzing cost and forecasting, and incorporating them into business plans
- Determine and support resource requirements, evaluate operational processes, measure outcomes to ensure desired results, and demonstrate adaptability and sponsoring continuous learning
Qualifications and Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong and diverse skill set, including:
- Exemplary ability to design, perform experiments, and influence engineering direction and product roadmap
- Experience partnering with engineering teams and transferring research to production
- Track record of publications in credible conferences and journals
- Experience with continuous delivery and infrastructure as code
- In-depth knowledge of CS data structures and algorithms
- Experience solving analytical problems with quantitative approaches
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced, startup-like environment
- Knowledge of developer tooling across the software development life cycle (task management, source code, building, deployment, operations, real-time communication)
- Fluency and specialization with at least two modern languages, such as Java, Python, or C#, including object-oriented design
- Experience with microservices-oriented architecture and extensible REST APIs
- Experience building the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and current systems
- Fluency in DevOps Concepts, Cloud Architecture, and Azure DevOps Operational Framework
- Experience in leveraging PowerShell scripting
- Experience in existing Operational Portals, such as AWS Console
- Experience with application monitoring tools and performance assessments
- In-depth knowledge of Datacenter structure, capabilities, and offerings, including the AWS platform and its native services
- Experience in security protocols and products, including Active Directory, Windows Authentication, SAML, OAuth
- Experience in AWS Network (Subscription, Security zoning, etc.)
- Strong troubleshooting skills for all aspects of the Contact Center Platforms and required to be on call for production support
- Highly proficient in architecture assessment and proposals, designing and implementing Amazon Connect Contact Flows according to business needs and best practices
Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in Contact Center Technologies
- 8+ years of architecture, design, development, deployment, integration, and configuration experience
- 6+ years of experience in open-source frameworks
- 4+ years of experience in Voice Structure, Capabilities, and Offerings, including the AWS and Cisco platforms
- 3+ years of people management experience
- AWS Certifications (Associate, Professional, Specialty level) or Cisco CCIE or CCNP Collaboration
- 2+ years of experience in Quality Management Systems
Education and Experience
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience is required. We are looking for candidates with a strong educational foundation and a proven track record of experience in software engineering and related fields.

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary range of $110,000.00 - $261,500.00 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
