Job Overview and Responsibilities
As a High School Tutor, you will be responsible for providing personalized tutoring sessions to students, adapting your teaching style to meet the unique needs of each individual. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing session reports to our office and families within 24 hours of each tutoring session, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and up-to-date on student progress
- Effectively balancing tutoring hours for each assigned student, ensuring that each student receives the support they need to succeed
- Successfully and professionally teaching students to fit their individual needs, using a range of teaching methods and materials to engage and motivate learners
- Servicing existing clients' concerns, questions, and requests in a timely and professional manner, providing excellent customer service and building strong relationships with families
- Following up with our office when a student's enrollment package is low on hours, ensuring that we can continue to provide support and guidance to our students
Candidates must only service students whose needs meet theirs, ensuring that we can provide the best possible support and guidance to our students.
Minimum Qualifications and Preferred Experience
To be considered for this role, you will need to meet the following minimum qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the education field and industry preferred, with a solid understanding of educational principles and practices
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in tutoring/teaching in specialized education fields preferred, with a proven track record of success in supporting students with diverse needs
- Credentialed tutors and/or graduate degrees are a plus but not a requirement, although they will be considered an asset in your application
- Experience with basic Database/ Data Entry, with the ability to accurately and efficiently manage student data and records
- Ability to prepare accordingly for each tutoring session, including developing lesson plans and materials that meet the unique needs of each student
- Having a personality that is suited for different types of students, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong administration skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong typing, PC, and recording skills, with the ability to use technology to support student learning and communication
- Having reliable transportation with current car insurance is a must, as you will be required to travel to students' homes for tutoring sessions
- Access to the internet, a computer, and a smartphone, with the ability to use digital tools and platforms to support student learning and communication
