We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate 988 Chat/Text Specialist to join our team on a full-time basis. This remote position is available to candidates based in the United States and offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals experiencing emotional distress. As a 988 Chat/Text Specialist, you will be part of a 24/7/365 mental health crisis and suicide prevention team, providing critical support to those in need. To be considered for this role, you must possess a bachelor's degree in behavioral science, psychology, social work, or a related field, or be a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist. Additionally, you should have at least six months to one year of related crisis experience, demonstrating your ability to provide effective support and intervention in high-pressure situations.
While not required, preferred qualifications include experience working in a mental health crisis or suicide prevention setting, as well as knowledge of suicide assessments and crisis intervention techniques. To succeed in this role, you must demonstrate exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as high-level customer service skills and professional etiquette. You should be able to effectively communicate via various methods, including in-person, virtual, and written communication. Furthermore, you must be able to demonstrate knowledge and competency in providing service linkage and referrals for programs, services, and other community resources.
