Job Summary and Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be appointed to a full-time, 11-month tenure-eligible position, with a start date of July 1, 2024. The primary duties of this role include:
- Advancing a personal research agenda that enhances the Department and College, with a focus on securing extramural funding and publishing original research in reputable journals
- Teaching in content areas related to expertise, with a potential for course management and design, and contributing to the development of the Doctor of Physical Therapy program
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external constituents, including faculty, students, and healthcare professionals
- Mentoring students in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program, providing guidance and support to facilitate their academic and professional growth
- Participating in departmental and college-wide service activities, including committee work and community engagement
The distribution of effort for this position will be approximately 30-40% instruction, 30-50% scholarship/research, and 10% service, allowing for a balance between academic, research, and service responsibilities.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:
- A terminal academic doctoral degree (i.e., PhD or similar terminal degree) in a relevant field
Preferred qualifications include:
- A record of scholarly work, including original research with strong potential for extramural funding
- Expertise in content areas relevant to the rehabilitation sciences
- Current physical therapy license in Kentucky or eligibility for licensure
- Board Certified Clinical Specialist by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties
- Teaching experience with potential for course management and design
- Demonstrated multicultural competency and experience interacting effectively with diverse groups of people
