Role Overview
We are currently seeking an experienced and passionate Substitute Teacher to join our team in Augusta, NJ. As a Substitute Teacher with Scoot Education, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students, gain hands-on teaching experience, and develop your skills in a supportive and dynamic environment. Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality instruction to students in the absence of the regular teacher, following the lesson plans and curriculum provided
- Manage the classroom environment, ensuring a safe, respectful, and inclusive space for all students
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, teachers, and school staff, promoting a collaborative and supportive learning community
- Provide individualized support to students as needed, adapting instruction to meet the diverse needs of the classroom
- Communicate effectively with teachers, administrators, and parents, keeping them informed of student progress and any issues that may arise
- Participate in professional development opportunities, seeking out ways to improve teaching practices and stay up-to-date on best practices in education
Essential Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits
- Three professional references, including one from a previous direct supervisor
- NJ Substitute Credential
- Background check and TB risk assessment (we will cover the cost of this)
- Full COVID-19 vaccination
- A passion for education and a commitment to putting students first

- Experience working with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities
- Knowledge of curriculum design and implementation
