Key Responsibilities

• Create a positive and engaging educational climate for students to learn in, while establishing and communicating clear objectives for all learning activities.
• Teach BIO 205 Microbiology courses on-campus and in-person, using a variety of teaching methods, including lectures, demonstrations, and audiovisual aids.
• Evaluate student performance, identify at-risk students, and provide ongoing advisement and academic counseling.
• Manage student behavior in the classroom, grade tests and projects, and maintain accurate records.
• Participate in ongoing conferences, seminars, and training sessions to stay current with best practices in education.
• Contribute to academic committees and provide input on program development and enrichment.
• Perform administrative duties as needed, including tracking attendance and maintaining grade books.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must possess:

• A Master's degree or higher in a related field from an accredited program recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
• A minimum of 15 credit hours or equivalent in Microbiology or a related subject area.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

• A minimum of three years of work experience as an educator.
• Experience teaching Microbiology or related courses.
• A proven track record of student success and academic excellence.
