The Role: Home Care Assistant
We're seeking a compassionate and dependable Home Care Assistant to join our team in New Jersey. As a Home Care Assistant at TheKey, you'll play a vital role in implementing customized care plans that address the holistic needs of our clients, focusing on their mind, body, and spirit. Your dedication will ensure that our clients receive the highest quality care, enhancing their quality of life and providing peace of mind to their loved ones.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional care to clients in their homes, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being.
- Execute comprehensive personalized weekly schedules and care plans, tailoring your approach to each client's unique needs.
- Complete daily tasks in a safe and professional manner, including Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as personal hygiene, mobility assistance, and meal preparation.
- Provide personal companionship and remain actively engaged with each client, offering ongoing social and emotional support.
- Assist with light housekeeping, transportation to appointments, and other tasks as needed.
- Document the completion of tasks and report any changes in the client's physical condition, mental capability, or behavior.
- Prioritize order, safety, and client enjoyment at all times, going above and beyond to enhance their quality of life.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
To succeed as a Home Care Assistant at TheKey, you'll need:
- An active Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the state of New Jersey.
- The ability to pass a background check and provide professional references.
- A negative TB Test or Chest X-Ray.
- Reliable means of transportation to and from work.
- Basic computer skills and overall technical savviness.
- Proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.
- Empathy, compassion, kindness, reliability, and punctuality.
- Experience with Alzheimer's or dementia care is a plus.
