Key Objectives
Deliver high-quality captions and transcriptions for lectures, webinars, and other educational materials.
Ensure content is accessible and compliant with relevant standards and guidelines.
Collaborate closely with faculty and media teams to meet project deadlines and quality expectations.
Responsibilities
Transcribe audio and video recordings accurately, maintaining the original meaning and tone.
Create closed captions and subtitles that align with audio content and timing.
Review and edit transcripts and captions to ensure error-free and clear output.
Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive educational materials responsibly.
Adhere to accessibility standards such as ADA and Section 508 compliance.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
Work collaboratively with academic staff and technical teams to resolve any content-related issues.
Qualifications
Proven experience in transcription, captioning, or related roles, preferably within education or media sectors.
Strong command of English grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
Familiarity with captioning software and transcription tools (e.g., Express Scribe, Adobe Premiere, or similar).
Excellent listening skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Basic understanding of accessibility standards and best practices.
High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
