The Bids & Client Services Coordinator will be responsible for assisting with the execution of all bidding channels and providing client services support, ensuring effective communication and compliance with department standards.
Responsibilities
- Process requests from clients to participate in sales, ensuring their effective bidding via absentee, telephone and Christie’s LIVE
- Assist in monitoring multiple department inboxes as well as phone lines
- Master the Christie’s systems, including LIVE Bid Management, Dotcom Admin tool, JDE, COS
- Perform Client Service functions as assigned, including but not limited to Auction Estimates, Front Counter Duties, Online sale support, Live Chat, Auction Estimates, Sale Views, etc
- Gather and monitor AML compliance information
- Carry out sale procedures, liaising with finance, specialists, and post-sale departments
- Communicate frequently with specialist departments
- Maintain sale files including auctioneering book for archiving and audits
- Communicate directly with internal and external clients (phone, email, live chat and in-person) adhering to Christie’s Client Service Standards
- Other duties as assigned by Manager
Skills
- Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent work experience
- Proficiency with numbers - reading, writing, hearing
- Ability to remain calm under pressure
- Willingness to comply with department and company standards of client service
- Excellent ability to focus in a busy and distracting environment
- Excellent ability to multi-task and prioritize, demonstrating excellent organizational skills
- Strong follow-up skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including superior written and spoken communication
- Knowledge of E-mail, Spreadsheet, and Word Processing software (Microsoft Office preferred)
- Ability to learn Christie's systems
- Strong teamwork abilities
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Flexible work hours (i.e. 7:30 am start time on sale days, some Saturday sales, some late evenings, some Sunday prep for occasional Monday sales)
- Ability to stand for long periods in the auction room and remain alert
- Stamina to work long hours and maintain high quality of work
- Ability to work for long periods on computer screen
- Infrequent light physical effort required
- Second language a plus
