Director, Supplemental Accounts Underwriting

Job Description: • Lead the voluntary benefits underwriting team to meet business targets while aligning with core customer mission • Oversee a reporting structure of 1 people leader and their team plus 6-8 individual contributor underwriters • Partner with sales leadership and internal partners to build knowledge and capabilities around Supplemental Health products and Life insurance offerings • Leverage expertise to apply best underwriting guidelines, analyze and resolve complex issues, and improve processes • Create a highly engaged work environment focused on continuous improvement and growth of talent and business acumen Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in business or related subject • A minimum of two (2) years of management experience that demonstrates the ability to lead, train, and develop underwriters and leaders to achieve desired business results • A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in group insurance underwriting or closely related underwriting field • Advanced knowledge of risk analysis and underwriting philosophy Benefits: • A rich benefits package including medical, dental, vision and a 401(k) plan with matching company contributions • An annual incentive bonus plan • Generous paid time off including 11 holidays, 2 wellness days, and 8 volunteer hours annually — PTO increases with tenure • A supportive, responsive management approach and opportunities for career growth and advancement • Paid parental leave and adoption/surrogacy assistance • An employee giving program that double matches your donations to eligible nonprofits and schools Apply tot his job
