Underwriter
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Underwriter / Credit Analyst to join our team. This role requires a strong background in banking and credit risk analysis, with the ability to assess financial health, evaluate creditworthiness, and make sound underwriting decisions. The ideal candidate will have a sharp analytical mindset, strong financial acumen, and proven experience in credit analysis within a banking environment. Key Responsibilities Review and analyze financial statements, tax returns, credit reports, and other documentation to assess borrower risk. Underwrite credit applications in accordance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and risk tolerance. Prepare detailed credit memos with recommendations for approval, decline, or modifications. Collaborate with sales and operations teams to structure transactions that align with credit guidelines. Monitor portfolio performance and identify potential risk exposures. Stay current on industry trends, banking regulations, and credit risk best practices. Support process improvements and contribute to credit policy development. Requirements Alternative credit/business financing experience required (minimum 2–3 years in underwriting, credit analysis, or risk management). Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field. Strong knowledge of financial analysis, cash flow assessment, and credit risk evaluation. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Proficiency with financial modeling, Microsoft Excel, and credit/loan origination systems.
