UK Law Academic Research & Writing Consultant (OSCOLA)
I am seeking an experienced UK law academic researcher and writer to support a substantial, research-driven legal writing project. The work involves in-depth doctrinal legal research, critical analysis of case law and legislation, and clear, well-structured long-form legal writing using OSCOLA referencing. Scope & Deliverables Conduct detailed research using UK legal sources (case law, statutes, Law Commission materials, academic journals) Produce well-structured written sections based on agreed outlines Provide accurate OSCOLA footnotes and bibliography Revise and refine drafts based on feedback Work in clearly defined stages with agreed milestones Required Skills & Experience Strong background in UK law (public, immigration, human rights, or related areas preferred) Proven experience in academic legal research and long-form legal writing Excellent command of OSCOLA citation Ability to engage critically with legal scholarship (not just descriptive writing) High attention to detail and originality Working Style & Communication Clear, professional communication is essential Comfortable working collaboratively and responding to feedback Ability to explain research choices and legal reasoning clearly Respect for confidentiality and agreed scope of work I value reliability, clarity, and quality over speed.
