We are seeking a Systems Administrator - Senior to provide advanced systems administration, engineering, and operational support for enterprise IT environments within the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Critical Cloud and Infrastructure Support (CCIS) program. The Senior Systems Administrator will be responsible for installing, configuring, monitoring, and maintaining mission-critical systems across on-premise, virtual, and cloud-integrated environments while ensuring compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) cybersecurity requirements. The ideal candidate will possess extensive hands-on experience supporting large-scale enterprise systems, strong troubleshooting capabilities, and the ability to lead complex operational activities in highly regulated DoD or Federal environments. • This position is contingent upon contract award.* Job Duties and Responsibilities: • Install, configure, administer, and maintain enterprise server systems across Windows and Linux operating environments. • Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity; proactively identify and remediate issues affecting service delivery. • Perform system patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management in accordance with DISA STIGs and DoD policies. • Design, implement, and maintain high availability, backup, and disaster recovery solutions for enterprise systems. • Provide tier III troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex system, hardware, and software issues. • Coordinate with network, virtualization, database, and cybersecurity teams to ensure integrated and secure system operations. • Develop and maintain technical documentation including system build guides, standard operating procedures, and architecture diagrams. • Support automation and configuration management using tools such as Ansible, PowerShell, Bash, or Terraform. • Participate in security audits, vulnerability remediation, and RMF activities to maintain compliance and audit readiness. • Mentor junior administrators and provide technical leadership during system outages and critical incidents. • Other duties as assigned. Job Requirements (Education/Skills/Experience): • Clearance: Must possess an active Secret clearance and be eligible for IT-I (Tier 5/SSBI) / Critical Sensitive access. U.S. Citizenship required. • Certifications: • * DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II baseline certification (e.g., Security+, CASP+, or CISSP). • One of the following Google Cloud Platform certifications: Associate Cloud Engineer or Professional Cloud Architect. • Plus one or more of the following certifications: • AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner • AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional) • AWS Certified SysOps Administrator • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert • Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate • Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Cloud Operations • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline. • Seven (7) years of progressive experience in systems administration supporting enterprise IT environments. • Hands-on experience administering both Windows Server and Linux operating systems in large-scale environments. • Experience supporting high availability, disaster recovery, and data replication solutions. • Strong understanding of virtualization technologies and integration with VMware or cloud platforms. • Knowledge of DoD cybersecurity requirements including RMF, DISA STIGs, and audit processes. • Experience working in DoD or Federal information systems environments. • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills. • Minimum seven (7) years of progressive experience administering enterprise systems, with demonstrated expertise supporting mission-critical environments in DoD or Federal information systems. Desired Experience and Skillset: • Five (5) years of hands-on experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) IT hosting solutions. • Experience supporting and integrating systems across on-premise, virtual, and cloud environments. • Proficiency with automation and configuration management tools such as Ansible, Terraform, PowerShell, or Bash. • Strong understanding of network fundamentals including VLANs, firewalls, VPNs, and routing concepts. • Experience implementing and maintaining DISA STIG compliance, patching, and audit readiness. • Knowledge of containerization or orchestration technologies such as Docker or OpenShift. • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in high-pressure environments and resolve critical incidents.
