About the Role: Senior Data Engineer As a Senior Data Engineer at Nike, Inc., you will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing data products and features that drive business growth and innovation. You will collaborate with product owners, data analysts, and business partners to translate product backlog items into logical units of engineering work. Your expertise in big data processing, data structures, and algorithms will enable us to harness the power of data and make informed decisions. Key Responsibilities: Design and implement data products and features in collaboration with cross-functional teams Contribute to the overall architecture, frameworks, and standards for processing and evaluating big data Evaluate new technologies, tools, and frameworks aimed at processing large volumes of data Implement distributed data processing pipelines using tools and languages prevalent in the big data ecosystem, such as Spark, Hive, and Python Build tools, user-defined functions, libraries, and frameworks to enable data flow patterns and improve data processing efficiency Collaborate with engineering leads and other teams to ensure quality solutions are implemented and technical best practices are defined and followed Create and participate in automated unit tests and integration tests to ensure data quality and integrity Troubleshoot data issues and perform root cause analysis to resolve operational and performance issues Requirements and Qualifications: Essential Qualifications: Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Computer Information Systems 2 years of experience in data engineering or a related field Strong expertise in big data processing, data structures, and algorithms Proficiency in languages such as Python, Spark, and Hive Experience with data processing frameworks such as Apache Airflow, EMR, and Data Bricks Strong understanding of data architecture, data governance, and data quality Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Computer Information Systems 4 years of experience in data engineering or a related field Experience with cloud-based data platforms such as AWS Familiarity with agile development methodologies and version control systems such as Git Strong communication and collaboration skills Skills and Competencies: Technical Skills: Programming languages: Python, Spark, Hive, Java Data processing frameworks: Apache Airflow, EMR, Data Bricks Data storage solutions: Hadoop, relational databases, NoSQL databases Data analysis and visualization tools: Tableau, Power BI, Excel Operating Systems: Windows, Linux, macOS Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Excellent communication and collaboration skills Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Strong attention to detail and quality focus Ability to adapt to changing priorities and requirements Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits: At Nike, we believe in empowering our employees to grow and develop their skills.
