[Remote] DevOps Engineer (AWS, Rust, Python) - Fully Remote

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. BruntWork is seeking a Cloud DevOps Engineer passionate about cloud security, automation, and building scalable infrastructure. The role involves managing AWS hosting environments, refining release processes, and driving best practices in cloud architecture and DevSecOps. Responsibilities • Design, maintain, and enhance secure AWS infrastructure using Terraform (including EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, and related services) • Develop and maintain internal tooling and automation scripts • Lead and optimise CI/CD pipelines, including deployment automation, rollback strategies, and release management • Define and meet reliability and availability targets, implementing proactive monitoring and alerting • Champion cloud security by enforcing best practices, conducting threat modelling, and performing regular vulnerability assessments • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support continuous improvement and high-quality software delivery • Write and maintain scripts and tools in Python, Rust, and other languages as needed • Support high-availability systems, disaster recovery testing, and infrastructure incident response • Identify opportunities for automation, improved documentation, and team enablement Skills • 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure, or Site Reliability Engineering roles • Strong hands-on experience with AWS services (IAM, EC2, S3, Lambda, VPC, etc.) • Proficiency in Terraform and infrastructure-as-code best practices • Solid understanding of cloud security, identity and access management, encryption, and network security • Experience with Python and/or Rust, and a willingness to learn new technologies • Familiarity with containerisation (Docker) and orchestration tools • Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch) • A proactive, problem-solving mindset and a focus on automation, reliability, and continuous improvement Benefits • You’ll have access to mentorship, training, and growth opportunities that support your career development.
