About Woodstock Vitamins
Woodstock Vitamins is a pharmacist-led supplement company focused on evidence-based, simplified wellness. Our goal is a fast, modern ecommerce experience that supports subscriptions, bundles, and long-term customer relationships — without unnecessary complexity or plugin bloat.
We’re looking for a senior WooCommerce developer who builds clean, efficient solutions and improves both performance and conversion.
What We Need You To Build / Improve
1) Subscription Experience
• Implement or optimize Subscribe & Save
• Flexible subscription logic (frequency options, discounts, customer management)
• Clean customer UX (no friction, no confusion)
• Integration with existing checkout and customer accounts
2) Bundles & Offers
• Bundle products with:
• Tiered discounts
• “Build your routine” style offers
• Conditional pricing where appropriate
• Ensure bundles work cleanly with subscriptions where possible
3) Modern Cart Experience
• Implement a flyout / drawer cart
• Add:
• In-cart upsells / cross-sells
• Subscription prompts
• Free shipping or threshold messaging
• Must be fast, mobile-optimized, and not rely on heavy JS frameworks unless justified
4) Site Performance Optimization
• Improve Core Web Vitals (LCP, CLS, TTI)
• Reduce page weight and unnecessary scripts
• Optimize:
• WooCommerce queries
• Asset loading
• Checkout speed
• Identify and fix performance bottlenecks
5) Plugin Stack Reduction
• Audit current plugins
• Remove redundancy and overlap
• Replace heavy plugins with:
• Lightweight alternatives
• Custom code where appropriate
• Goal: minimum necessary stack
What Success Looks Like
Within the first 30 days:
• Faster site load times (measurable improvement)
• Reduced plugin count
• Fully functional subscription + bundle system
• Flyout cart live and conversion-ready
• Clear documentation of architecture and decisions
Requirements
Must Have
• Recent, deep experience with WooCommerce architecture
• Strong PHP (WordPress/WooCommerce core-level understanding)
• JavaScript experience for front-end cart interactions
• Experience with:
• WooCommerce Subscriptions (or equivalent systems)
• Product Bundles / Composite Products
• Performance optimization
• Ability to customize themes/plugins without breaking update paths
Bonus
• Experience with supplement or subscription ecommerce
• CRO mindset (AOV, LTV, retention)
• Experience reducing plugin stacks
• Experience with flyout cart implementations
How We Evaluate Developers
To apply, please include:
• Links to 2–3 WooCommerce sites you built or optimized most recently
• For each project, briefly describe:
• What performance or conversion problem you solved
• What you removed or simplified
• Measurable results (speed, AOV, conversion, plugin reduction)
• Your typical approach to reducing plugin bloat
• Your availability and hourly/project rate
We are looking for someone who:
• Works efficiently
• Communicates clearly
• Identifies problems early
• Recommends simpler solutions instead of adding complexity
Engagement Structure
• Initial paid audit (performance + plugin + architecture)
• Followed by implementation phases based on priorities
• Ongoing support possible for the right fit
What This Role Is Not
• Not a “plugin installer”
• Not a theme-only customizer
• Not an agency handoff to junior developers
We’re looking for a senior WooCommerce engineer who can own outcomes.
