The Role
AppLogic Networks is looking for a talented and driven VAS Engineer (Business Intelligence) to join our Global Services - Customer Success team. In this role, you will be embedded at one of our key accounts, working at the intersection of database operations and analytical reporting to support critical business decisions.
When issues fall outside your scope, you will coordinate with AppLogic Networks' Customer Support team, while continuing to own communication, status updates, and scheduling of resolution activities on the customer side.
What Will You Be Doing
Database Operations
- Operate and maintain database clusters on platforms such as Vertica, Microsoft SQL Server, and OracleDB
- Monitor and maintain database cluster health to ensure optimal performance at all times
- Perform query optimization, query profiling, and performance monitoring on an ongoing basis
- Support installation of software maintenance updates for database servers and solutions
Business Intelligence and Reporting
- Work with customer network and business teams to collect analytical requirements
- Create new BI reports and update existing ones to accommodate evolving business needs
- Develop new reports proactively, drawing on best practices from other AppLogic Networks deployments
- Present reports directly to the end customer in a clear and structured manner
Collaboration and Issue Management
- Work within customer change management and maintenance window guidelines
- Collaborate with the AppLogic Networks team to follow best practices in report development
- Take accountability for case management and ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner
- Communicate status updates to the customer and schedule further investigation activities until resolution
- Provide consultative support and mentor less experienced team members

Required Technical Skills

- Strong knowledge of data modeling, data schemas, database operations, and optimization
- Commanding knowledge of Unix-based operating systems such as Linux and FreeBSD
- Solid understanding of networking and IP-related technologies
- Experience in the data communications industry across wireline networks (Cable, DSL, FTTH) and wireless networks (Satellite, Wi-Fi, LTE, GPRS-3G, CDMA-3G, WiMAX, GSM, UMTS, 4G, 5G)
Desired Technical Skills
- Experience with programming or scripting languages such as Java, C/C++, Python, or Perl
