Tax Accountant CPA

Position: Senior Tax Accountant Location: Chicago, Illinois Flexible, hybrid work environment with offices in Chicago, Deerfield, and Downers Grove. Salary: $70,000 - $80,000 Positions Available: 3 Job Highlights: Required Skills: • CPA designation or pursuing a CPA (eligible to sit with 150 credit hours) • 2+ years of experience in public accounting at a mid-market firm (no Big 4 candidates) • Experience in tax review, preparation, and returns for Partnerships, S-Corps, C-Corps, and Individuals • Client experience in industries such as manufacturing, real estate, professional services, restaurant, and retail Responsibilities: • First-year seniors: 70% review and 30% preparation of tax returns • Experienced seniors: 100% review of tax returns for Partnerships (1065), S-Corps and C-Corps (1120), Individuals (1040), and others as assigned • Handle routine client tax questions, research tax issues, and assist clients with collecting necessary information for tax return completion and compliance • Participate in tax field exams and handle any tax notice resolutions • Identify opportunities to expand services for clients • Assist with staff and intern training and development Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in accounting • CPA-eligible (150 credit hours) or actively pursuing CPA certification • 2+ years of experience in public accounting at a mid-market firm • Preferred background from firms ranked in the top 40 nationally Culture, Perks and Benefits: If you are looking for a firm that fosters an exceptional environment where employees can enjoy a unique blend of top-tier client interaction with a fun, friendly work atmosphere, then take a closer look at our client.
