Job Summary
As a Special Education Student Attendant, you will work closely with our educational team to provide essential support to students with a range of disabilities. Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one support to students with diverse needs, assisting with academic, social, and emotional development.
- Collaborate with teachers and other educational staff to develop and implement individualized support plans.
- Assist with the implementation of behavioral interventions and strategies to promote positive behavior.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of student progress and support plans.
- Operate wheelchairs and other mechanical devices designed to aid students with disabilities.
- Assist with the implementation of CPR/First Aid training and restraint procedures.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents to ensure seamless support.
Essential Qualifications
- Ability to obtain an Educational Aide Permit through the Ohio Department of Education.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work cooperatively with other personnel and maintain confidentiality.
- Proficient in basic computer skills and able to use educational software.
- Ability to lift 75 pounds unassisted and operate wheelchairs and other mechanical devices.
- Valid CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
- Experience working with children with emotional and physical disabilities preferred.

- Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, or related field.
- Previous experience working in an educational setting.
- Knowledge of devices and equipment commonly used in public schools.
