We are seeking an experienced Contractor for a role as a Senior Fund Accounting Manager to support multiple private equity clients on a short-term project engagement estimated full time for 3-5 months wih options to stay on indefinley. This role is fully remote and focused on data-heavy accounting work, daily fund management, capital calls and distributions or data remediation for multiple private equity funds. MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH CLOSE-ENDED DRAW DOWN INVESTMENT FUNDS, MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE MANAGING STAFF. You will play a key role in uploading and reconciling financial data, validating accuracy across systems, and building Excel-based templates to support daily fund accounting functions and performance and reporting metrics. This engagement is ideal for a senior-level fund accountant / controller who is highly proficient in Excel, comfortable working across accounting systems, and enjoys structured, detail-oriented project work. Key Responsibilities • Review and processing fund accounting day to day functions including oversight of the cash process, expense accruals, capital calls, distributions, management fee calculation, review carried interest, organization of record keeping • Financial reporting oversight for quarter end close process, waterfall, financial statement review, PCAP review, valuation uploads • Upload financial data from Excel into accounting systems for multiple private equity funds • Reconcile accounting data across multiple sources (Excel files, accounting platforms, bank data) • Identify and resolve discrepancies between systems and source documents • Financial reconciliations between systems • Data validation and roll-forwards • Perform data manipulation, and clean-up work as needed (rebook journal entries using different GL codes or break out into more granular data, adjust errors as needed) • Download reports from accounting systems and validate accuracy against source files • Collaborate with internal finance team to ensure consistent data structure and reporting • Required Qualifications • 10+ years of experience in fund accounting on a private equity client or a similar limited life drawdown type fund • Strong working knowledge of general accounting principles and investment accounting • Advanced Excel proficiency, including VLOOKUP / XLOOKUP, Pivot tables, Sumifs • Experience setting up and managing data reconciliations • Comfort working inside accounting systems, including Investran and others • Uploading and downloading data • Troubleshooting system-to-Excel mismatches • Highly detail-oriented with strong analytical skills • Ability to work independently and manage deadlines in a project-based environment • Understanding of reviewing LPAs for agreement with waterfall calculations, preferred return calcs, IRRs, management fee calcs, etc Why This Opportunity • Competitive hourly rate • Clearly defined project scope • Potential for extension or future project work • Exposure to complex private equity accounting environments Job Types: Contract, Temporary Pay: From $80.00 per hour Work Location: Remote
