The Supply Chain Optimization Technologies (SCOT) Finance team is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to support Optimal Sourcing Systems organization. This organization is responsible sourcing Amazon.com inventory and managing Vendors performance, looking for opportunities to drive better supply and economic benefits. You will work directly with a global team of operations research scientists, economists, machine learning specialists, software developers, and product managers who lead the industry in the development of innovative algorithms and optimization strategies to maximize long term profitability. Key job responsibilities - Collecting, analyzing, and managing quantitative data to create meaningful reports to lead business improvement and cost reductions - Manage the development of weekly and monthly financial metrics, all planning, forecasting, and reporting models and their continuous innovation and communicating to your Operations and Retail partners - Root cause analysis and uncovering core issues using data to drive actions and improvements - Conduct ad hoc analysis to quantify financial impact of opportunities and risks - Work with data source providers and technology teams to ensure that key decision data is accurate, automated and timely - Communicating verbally and in writing to business customers and leadership team with various levels of technical knowledge, educating them about our systems, as well as sharing insights and recommendations BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science) - 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - 4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience - MBA, or CPA - Knowledge of Tableau - Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards) Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. The base pay for this position ranges from $60,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
