We are looking for a passionate Senior DevOps Engineer to help us build and maintain a reliable, secure, scalable and efficient real-time platform, by combining software engineering and systems engineering skills. The ideal candidate should ensure that moving fast doesn’t mean sacrificing stability, quality, performance, or maintainability. Additionally, s/he must have the attitude and skills to automate every process as much as possible, so as to satisfy our hungry customers.
We have a microservice architecture with over 80 services that collectively handle thousands of requests per second. Our communication methods include both synchronous and event-based approaches. The majority of our codebase is written in Golang. We use REST APIs and gRPC. Our infrastructure is hosted in both AWS and GCP, and we leverage Kubernetes for container orchestration. Our data storage solutions include PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis. Additionally, we are part of the Delivery Hero group, working closely with their Global Services division.

What you’ll do:
Build and Enhance Infrastructure. Work on designing, building, and maintaining infrastructure systems to ensure they are secure, reliable, and scalable.
Build tools and automations to streamline processes, move faster without sacrificing quality.
Set up and manage monitoring tools to track system health, identify anomalies, and take preemptive measures to avoid downtime.
Work closely with development teams to improve systems efficiency, reliability, observability and security.
Implement and follow security best practices to protect data integrity and ensure compliance with industry standards.
Regularly evaluate the production readiness of our services and infrastructure, propose and implement the appropriate changes in collaboration with the development teams.
Manage and resolve incidents, perform root cause analyses, and work on preventive measures.
Μaintain clear and detailed documentation for infrastructure configurations, build and deployment processes, and operations practices.
Work in a high-paced environment, with different Agile teams and stakeholders
Be part of a small team, involved in the end-to-end delivery process

Qualifications
BSc in Computer Science, or equivalent area of a technical study
At least 5 years of working experience in a similar role
An engineering background with deep computer science fundamentals
Experience with any of the major Cloud vendors, preferably AWS
Experience with databases, both SQL and NoSQL, preferably (Postgres, MongoDB)
Hands-on experience with configuration and infrastructure management tools (eg. Terraform, Ansible)
Background with the build-out of continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines (CI/CD)
Experience with container orchestration and management technologies (eg. Docker, Kubernetes, EKS) will be considered a plus
Good understanding of networking technologies: TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, Load Balancing, Routing, and Firewalling
Experience in implementing and maintaining monitoring and alerting systems (eg. Prometheus stack, Grafana)
A strong team player attitude with excellent communication skills
Superior analytical skills and a strong sense of urgency and ownership in your work
Strong communication and collaboration skills (English is a must)
