School Social Worker - Middle & High School (Remote - CO Based ONLY)

Position Summary The general education School Social Worker supports student success by providing targeted social-emotional and behavioral support and contributing to proactive, school-wide initiatives that strengthen student well-being. This role partners closely with the counseling team to identify student needs, coordinate interventions, and ensure consistent follow-through. Through a blend of direct student support and systems-level collaboration, this position helps create a responsive and connected school environment. Essential Duties (Top 5 Roles) 1) Direct Student Support & Intervention (Tier 2/3) - Provide targeted social-emotional and behavioral support to identified students through 1:1 and small group interventions - Implement evidence-based practices and adjust supports based on student responsiveness - Maintain consistent documentation of services, progress, and outcomes - Support students in developing skills related to self-management, engagement, and well-being 2) MTSS Coordination, Attendance & Student Monitoring - Partner with counselors and the Student & Parent Engagement Coordinator to identify students needing support using academic, attendance, and engagement data - Support implementation and continuous improvement of MTSS processes, including Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions - Monitor attendance, engagement, and behavioral indicators; proactively identify and flag at-risk students - Coordinate and support attendance and truancy interventions, including tracking follow-through and outcomes - Maintain organized systems to monitor student progress and intervention effectiveness 3) Collaboration with Counseling & School Teams - Work closely with Academic Counselors and the Counseling Assistant to coordinate student support and ensure alignment - Participate in student support and MTSS meetings, contributing insights on social-emotional and behavioral needs - Collaborate with staff to ensure consistent implementation of support strategies - Support integration of social-emotional considerations into broader student success planning 4) Family Communication & Engagement Support - Communicate with families regarding student needs, progress, and support plans - Partner with families to address attendance, engagement, and social-emotional barriers - Collaborate with the Student & Parent Engagement Coordinator to strengthen family engagement and connection - Provide families with resources and guidance to support student success 5) Tier 1 Support & Trend Identification - Contribute to proactive, school-wide social-emotional supports and initiatives - Identify trends in attendance, engagement, and student well-being data - Provide recommendations to counselors and leadership to improve student outcomes - Support the development of preventative strategies that strengthen overall student engagement and success Non-Essential Duties Please note that this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of the activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Minimum Qualifications - Required: - - Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) or related field - Current Colorado licensure as a School Social Worker (or ability to obtain) - Experience providing social-emotional or behavioral support in a school setting - Ability to implement and adapt evidence-based interventions - Strong collaboration and communication skills - Ability to analyze student data and adjust supports accordingly - Preferred: - - Experience in a virtual or hybrid school environment - Familiarity with MTSS or tiered support frameworks - Experience working with diverse student populations - Ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholders and systems Physical and Mental Requirements / Working Conditions - Full-time remote work environment - Expected working hours aligned to standard business hours, with flexibility as needed - Occasional evening meetings with families or staff - Ability to manage multiple student cases and priorities simultaneously - Emotional capacity to support students through a range of challenges Benefits After meeting the eligibility requirements, benefits are available, including Health, 401(k) Retirement, Paid Holidays, and Paid Time Off.
