Job Summary
Independent reading and spelling tutor to support students who learn differently, including those with dyslexia and other learning challenges. We are seeking skilled, reliable tutors to provide remote, one-on-one reading and spelling instruction as independent contractors.
As a Reading & Spelling Tutor, you will deliver individualized online tutoring sessions, typically 50 minutes in length. Tutors maintain professional discretion over instructional delivery while working within a structured literacy framework aligned with student needs and family goals.
Experience with structured literacy approaches such as the Science of Reading, Barton, Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, Lindamood-Bell, or UFLI is strongly preferred.
This opportunity is best suited for tutors who operate independently, communicate professionally with families, and are committed to helping students make meaningful progress.
Responsibilities
• Provide 50-minute, one-on-one online tutoring sessions focused on reading and spelling
• Prepare for and deliver individualized instruction based on student needs
• Communicate with parents/guardians regarding student progress
• Maintain basic session records such as attendance and lesson notes
• Coordinate scheduling and availability in a professional manner
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8.0 – 20.0 per week
