IHI Therapy Center | LGBTQ+ Affirmative Care
About IHI Therapy Center
The Institute for Human Identity (IHI) is New York’s premier LGBTQ+ psychotherapy center, nationally recognized for its leadership in affirmative, culturally responsive mental health care. Founded in the wake of a historic 1973 milestone—when IHI helped lead the removal of homosexuality from the DSM—we continue to advance a vision of therapy that honors identity, dignity, and self-determination.
At IHI, clinicians are part of a mission-driven community committed to healing that is free from pathologizing frameworks around gender, sexuality, culture, and identity.
