YOUR ROLE
We’re looking for a Quantitative Analyst who can work across data, modeling, and communication. This role is a good fit for someone who can speak comfortably with actuaries, explain complex ideas in simple terms, and work hands-on with data. You’ll build models, analyze trends, support underwriting and product teams, and present insights to senior stakeholders.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Build, validate, and maintain statistical and machine learning models using tools like XGBoost and related libraries.
- Work closely with actuaries and business partners to translate analytical results into practical guidance.
- Explore and analyze large datasets using SQL and Python.
- Create clear and compelling visualizations using seaborn, matplotlib, and other tools.
- Build executive-ready presentations in PowerPoint to walk teams through results and recommendations.
- Support production deployment of models with clean documentation and reproducible workflows.
- Help drive a data-driven culture within the organization.
Requirements
YOUR LOCATION
This is a fully remote role, with the exception of onboarding and optional in-office events.
Skills & Experience
- Strong foundation in statistics, predictive modeling, and feature engineering.
- Hands-on experience with Python and common ML libraries (XGBoost, scikit-learn, pandas, numpy).
- Solid SQL skills for querying and wrangling data.
- Experience creating visualizations with seaborn, matplotlib, or similar tools.
- Strong presentation and communication skills, especially when explaining technical topics to actuaries and business stakeholders.
- Proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Computer Science, or a related field; Equivalent practical experience is also considered.
Nice to Have:
- Experience in insurance or financial services.
- Exposure to actuarial concepts or underwriting workflows.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms or production model deployment.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to sit/stand/walk for prolonged periods of time, (up to 8 hours per day) at a desk working on a computer.
- Must be able to use standard office equipment for extended periods of time, including but not limited to, a mouse, keyboard, phone and video conferencing.
