QA Engineer

About the Role We are looking for a QA Engineer to join our cross-functional Agile team and ensure the delivery of high-quality software across web and mobile platforms.In this role, you’ll work closely with developers, product owners, and other QAs to execute manual and automated tests, create test cases, and contribute to test automation development (Playwright/Python).You’ll also get hands-on experience with modern AI-powered QA tools, helping to optimize test case generation, defect analysis, and regression suite maintenance. Your Responsibilities - Testing web and mobile applications with all available methods (including automated regression suites, API validation, and exploratory testing of the app) - Perform risk-based exploratory testing to identify critical defects beyond the scope of scripted checks, ensuring testing efforts are always prioritized where they matter most. - Design, maintain, and improve automated test scripts in Playwright/Python. - Analyze the product and its business/technical requirements to design high-value test scenarios and scripts that serve as a foundation for robust automation. - Perform API testing (Postman), including automated API test execution. - Collaborate with developers and product teams in an Agile/Scrum environment. - Support CI/CD testing processes (GitLab CI). - Report and track defects using Jira and ensure proper documentation in Confluence. - Participate in the introduction and daily use of AI testing tools (e.g., for test creation, defect analysis). Contribute to improving QA processes and sharing knowledge with the team. Requirements Must have: - +4 years of experience in software testing in commercial projects. - High level of ownership and proactive mindset - Exceptional critical thinking skills and the ability to explain your testing logic. - Hands-on experience in both manual and automated testing. - Good knowledge of Playwright and Python for test automation. - Solid API testing experience with Postman (manual & automated). - Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI preferred). - Experience with test case management tools. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Good time management and ability to work independently on assigned tasks. - Fluent communication skills in English (spoken & written). - Practical experience with AI tools (Claude Code, Junie etc.). - Experience testing mobile applications (real devices or device farms). - Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies. - ISTQB Foundation or Advanced certification (or equivalent practical experience (we value your actual testing skills over certificates).). - Experience with performance and/or security testing. - Exposure to AI/ML testing tools (e.g., intelligent test creation). - Languages/Frameworks: PHP 8+/Symfony 6+/Laravel 9+, JS/TypeScript, Go, PHPUnit, Codeception, Flutter/Dart - Databases: MySQL, MariaDB - Infrastructure: UNIX, Kubernetes, RabbitMQ - Testing: Playwright, Python, Dart, Postman - CI/CD: GitLab CI, Code Magic  - Containerization: Docker - AI Tools: Claude Cod, Cursor, Jetbrains AI, Gemini for Google Workspace Tools: Jira, Requirements & Test Management for Jira, Confluence, Slack, IDE (freedom of choice),  G Suite, Sentry  - Agile Scrum + XP elements - OOP, TDD, DDD, SOLID, Clean Code - Code reviews, pull requests, automation mindset - QA as part of cross-functional team - Private healthcare - Cafeteria system  - Training budget €800 per year - Integration meetings (internal training, hackathon, integration trips and meetings) - Referral Bonus - Startup atmosphere - No dress code - Flexible hours - Flexible working format - remote or hybrid  - Modern office, Chillout zone, Standing desk, parking for bicycles, and a cloakroom with showers - Regular office lunches and integration meetings - Some international travels included We are blau direkt Infrastructure service provider for brokerage companies in the insurance industry.
