QA Analyst - Application & Data Testing (Contract)

QA / Test Analysts at S&A are embedded within client delivery teams to ensure solution quality, reliability, and fitness for purpose across custom-built technology solutions. This role focuses on functional testing, integration testing, and regression testing, with an emphasis on leveraging automated testing approaches. QA / Test Analysts collaborate closely with Software Engineers, Data Engineers, and Business Analysts to validate requirements, test execution, and defect resolution. Client programs may include initiatives involving emissions-related data and environmental metrics, requiring strong attention to accuracy, traceability, and end-to-end validation. Duties & Responsibilities • Test Planning: Develop and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scripts aligned to project requirements • Functional Testing: Execute functional testing to validate system behavior against documented requirements • Integration Testing: Validate data flows and integrations across systems, APIs, and data pipelines • Regression Testing: Perform regression testing to ensure new changes do not impact existing functionality • Automated Testing: Design, execute, and maintain automated test scripts where appropriate • Defect Management: Identify, document, and track defects through resolution • Test Data Management: Create and manage test data to support test execution • Requirements Collaboration: Work closely with Business Analysts to validate requirements and acceptance criteria • Release Support: Support testing cycles during releases and deployments • Consulting Engagement Support: Operate effectively within a client-facing consulting delivery environment Education • Bachelor’s Degree required • Preferred fields include Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related disciplines Required Skills • Minimum 3–5+ years of experience in quality assurance or software testing • Strong experience with manual functional and integration testing • Experience working with automated testing tools and frameworks • Ability to test APIs, integrations, and data-driven solutions • Experience working with test management and defect tracking tools • Understanding of software development life cycle and testing methodologies • Strong attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills • Experience delivering in consulting or project-based environments Nice-to-Have Skills (Preferred, Not Required) • Experience supporting automated testing initiatives • Familiarity with API and integration testing approaches • Experience validating data pipelines or analytics platforms • Experience working with emissions or environmental datasets • Experience supporting large-scale or multi-year client programs Required Competencies • Quality Focus: Ensures solutions meet defined quality standards • Analytical Thinking: Identifies gaps, risks, and potential failure points • Problem Solving: Investigates defects and supports root cause analysis • Collaboration: Works effectively with cross-functional delivery teams • Communication: Communicates issues and findings clearly and professionally • Adaptability: Adjusts testing approach based on solution complexity and change • Consulting Mindset: Operates with professionalism, accountability, and client focus Flexible work from home options available.
