Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Network Engineer and play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and securing cloud-based network architectures. This fully remote position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge cloud technologies and security tools, empowering government agencies and organizations. Due to the nature of the work involving sensitive information, applicants must be US citizens and able to obtain a Public Trust clearance. This role is critical to delivering secure, scalable, and resilient connectivity across hybrid and multi-cloud environments while collaborating closely with cloud, cybersecurity, and program leadership teams.
Role: As a Network Engineer, you will design, implement, and secure cloud-based network architectures, leveraging hands-on expertise with F5 and Versa Networks SD-WAN and security solutions.
Responsibilities:
• Design, implement, and maintain secure cloud network architectures in AWS, Azure, and hybrid environments.
• Integrate cloud networks with on-premises DoD infrastructure using VPNs, Direct Connect, ExpressRoute, and SD-WAN.
• Implement network segmentation, Zero Trust principles, and policy-based access controls.
• Automate network provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues using tools like CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, and packet capture utilities.
• Ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity frameworks including DISA STIGs, NIST 800-53, and RMF.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity, cloud engineering, and application teams to support secure mission delivery.
• Maintain detailed network documentation, diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
• Promote continuous improvement through feedback loops and process refinement.
• Ensure alignment with customer mission priorities and Leidos delivery standards.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Systems, Business)
• 6+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or Cloud Infrastructure roles.
• Hands-on experience with Versa Networks SD-WAN and security platforms.
• Experience configuring and managing F5 BIG-IP LTM, GTM, and ASM modules.
• Proficiency in AWS and/or Azure networking services (VPCs, VNets, Transit Gateway, NSGs, Route Tables).
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, BGP, DNS, NAT, and VPN technologies.
• Familiarity with Zero Trust Architecture and DoD cloud security requirements.
• Scripting and automation experience (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
• Excellent facilitation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
• Certifications such as Versa Certified SD-WAN Engineer, F5-CTS, AWS Advanced Networking, or Azure Network Engineer Associate.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain a Public Trust.

Pay: $145,000.00 - $165,000.00 per year
