Careers at Studio include competitive benefits and wellness offerings, equity ownership, continuous learning, open-door access to leadership, community involvement, and plenty of perks!   Position Summary: A Mortgage Relationship Manager is responsible for sourcing residential mortgage loan opportunities and coordinating the loan closing process between the client and the bank.   Essential Duties & Responsibilities: - Regularly call upon realtors, builders, accountants and other sources of leads for potential mortgage loan prospects. - Follow up on referrals from other Studio bankers and from centers of influence in a timely manner. - Provide and explain prospective clients with clear, cohesive and timely terms, conditions and closing procedures for the bank's mortgage loan product offerings. - Make product recommendations to applicants based on their individual situations and the various products available from potential loan purchasers. - Gather the necessary application, tax returns and other due diligence items required by the bank to make an informed credit approval decision. - Provide the appropriate disclosures to the applicant in a timely fashion as required by bank policy and regulatory requirements. - Coordinate the loan closing process with the client, operations staff, title company and other third-party participants and communicate regular process updates with the client. - Other duties as assigned.   Essential Competencies: - Thorough knowledge of mortgage lending principles including underwriting and documentation. - A basic understanding of consumer mortgage lending laws and regulations. - Self-motivated and performance driven sales attitude. - Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as interest, financial ratios and percentages. - Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. - Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. - Ability to maintain confidentiality - Proficient technology skills - Proficient user of Microsoft Office products - Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal - Persuasive communication skills - Effective problem solving and decision-making skills - Ability to manage multiple priorities - Resourceful and well-organized Essential Experience: - At a minimum should have three years of banking, mortgage lending or similar experience. Preferred Experience: - At least five years of residential mortgage lending experience. - Demonstrated an ability to produce strong sales results. - A familiarity with the Middle Tennessee residential mortgage lending market. Essential Education: - High school diploma or Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or combination of experience and education.   Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the position.
