The Arena Group is a high-growth, evolving, and dynamic organization. We are seeking a resilient, high-energy, analytical, and tech-savvy Finance Manager who views change as an opportunity rather than a hurdle. This role will serve as a critical link between all business operations and our Finance team. This role will deliver critical business insight, support executive decision-making, drive automation improvements, and provide forward-looking analysis to support growth. In addition, this role will be responsible for maintenance and oversight of our internal SOX documentation and leading the execution of our annual SOX testing process supported by a hybrid team of internal and external resources.
The Arena Group’s expected annualized base salary range for this position is currently $110,000 – $150,000. Actual salaries will vary based on multiple factors including location, education, experience and other factors permitted by law. The listed salary range is but one component of The Arena Group’s total compensation and benefits available to its employees.

The ideal candidate:
- Will have 6–10 years of finance experience and a deep understanding of GAAP, public company reporting, financial statements, budgeting/forecasting, AI technology driven tools, and internal controls.
- Is a proactive problem-solver with a strong background in financial and dynamic scenario-based modeling, operate and build BI tools and excel at cross-functional collaboration to act as a strategic business partner.
- Will thrive here if they have the adaptability to change priorities on the fly and the grit to drive projects to completion in a fast-paced environment.
- A self-starter who doesn’t just handle change, they are bored without it.
- Someone who can work independently to keep things moving, but can collaborate deeply when the pressure is on.
- Someone who possesses the analytical horsepower to dive deep into data and the resilience to defend insights to senior leadership.
Job requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline (Masters or CPA preferred).
- Experience: 6–10 years of progressive experience in corporate finance within a mid-size to large public company. 2-3 years of experience in a management or lead capacity is preferred.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel and Google sheets (complex formulas, data modeling, macros, power query)
- Systems: comfortable learning and using automation tools, Power BI, Other BI platforms, ERP/reporting systems, AI enabled financial tools.
- Finance: Strong grasp of GAAP and the three financial statements.
- Emerging Tech & Blockchain Acumen: Understanding of and comfort working with new technologies which could include AI, of blockchain technology, digital assets, and related financial models
- Communication: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
- Mindset: Analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and the ability to translate raw data into actionable business narratives. Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and proactive problem solver with a business-first mindset.
Job responsibilities
- Strategic Business Partnering: Act as a trusted financial advisor to department heads, providing data-driven insights to drive financial performance
- Financial Modeling: Build, maintain, and stress-test complex financial models in a dynamic environment where priorities and assumptions evolve rapidly.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation and analysis of the company’s financial budgets, forecasts and rolling projections across income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow.
- Management Reporting: Prepare and present accurate, timely monthly financial reporting packages for senior management, highlighting key variances to budget, forecast, or prior period results, trends, KPIs and clearly communicate drivers of performance to senior leadership.
- Technology: Improve and automate processes, leveraging technology and tools to streamline reporting, and storytelling with predictive modeling that translates complex financial results into clear narratives for non-financial stakeholders
- Ad-Hoc Analysis: Conduct deep-dive analyses on business performance, growth strategies, and potential investment opportunities as requested by leadership.
- Navigate a fast-paced iterative reporting cycle to maintain financial accuracy and integrity, driving GAAP and SOX compliance without sacrificing speed.
- SOX Compliance: Assist in managing a hybrid internal and external team to ensure SOX compliance, robust risk management, and strong operational and financial performance. This includes designing and maintain a sufficient internal control environment aligned with regulatory standards including SOX 404, PCAOB, SEC
