Chair of the Investment Committee The Chair of the Investment Committee will provide independent challenge and oversight to ensure that Weatherbys Private Bank ’s investment offering remains aligned with the interests of its clients and meets the needs of the wider Investment & Wealth Advice (IWA) proposition. The Chair will guide the Committee in fulfilling its responsibilities, including: fund selection, asset allocation, and performance monitoring of portfolios managed by Weatherbys; due diligence, selection, and performance monitoring of third-party discretionary fund managers (DFMs); investment communications, both internal and external. The ideal candidate will: bring deep expertise in quantitative investing and capital markets, enabling them to provide the level of challenge and insight required, particularly in technically complex areas such as portfolio optimisation; be aligned with the Bank’s investment philosophy, namely to prefer systematic investing over stock-picking or tactical asset allocation; have a strong background in investing on behalf of private clients, able to articulate real world considerations such as fees, taxes, inflation, etc. The role will require a time commitment of approximately one to two days per month, including preparation for and participation in Committee meetings (typically held four to six times per year), reviewing materials, and liaising with Committee members and stakeholders. The Chair will ensure that the Committee’s outputs are appropriately escalated to the Executive Committee and will support the Committee’s annual review of its effectiveness and Terms of Reference. While not responsible for broader planning or product development, the Chair should have a strong understanding of how investment decisions interact with the Bank’s product and service landscape to ensure cohesive oversight within the Committee’s remit.
