Role Description
The Data Operations Analyst III (Senior) supports R1’s mission to maximize value to its clients by serving as the team’s trusted technical expert with a strong emphasis on mentorship, problem-solving, and special projects. This role works with internal operational and/or product/engineering stakeholders to drive key internal initiatives. The Senior Data Operations Analyst may also work closely with client IT teams and assist the R1 commercial team with client questions/concerns around data strategy before, during, and after implementation.
• Support successful client clinical data implementations - acquiring data, importing data, validating data, and getting the system ready for go live - with particular focus on strategic and/or complex clients, managing deliverables to timelines.
• Communicate technical and healthcare revenue cycle concepts and collaborate with internal and external customers (including client IT/data contacts) to work towards extracts that meet data specifications; provide ad hoc sales engineering support.
• Healthcare data expertise: Work with industry-standard formats including FHIR and HL7 (v2/v3) to ensure accurate data exchange and interoperability.
• Ensure successful ongoing client data feeds by monitoring imports, identifying patterns, and mitigating risks to data flow and process.
• Create and automate data pipelines and workflows to move data from one point to another to meet data availability needs of the business.
• Manage relationships with internal stakeholders to collaboratively strategize how to best enable client data to meet technical or operational needs and satisfy data requirements for downstream R1 products, analytics, and end-users.
• Act as a liaison/representative for the team to build trust and generate buy-in with leadership counterparts; understand and adapt to changing business operations and priorities.
• Apply a deep understanding of healthcare and revenue cycle data to solve complex problems or streamline processes for internal and external stakeholders.
• Influence internal and external stakeholder decisions by interpreting and presenting outcomes of research/analysis and current state to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Partner with Product and Engineering to troubleshoot IT issues and design future state data platform tooling/process by leveraging knowledge of complex data sets, technical needs, business impacts, and process pain points/opportunities.
• Seek opportunities to drive process improvements and increase efficiency of team’s operations with critical thinking and openness to new technologies/techniques.

Qualifications
• Proficient computer skills (including, but not limited to, spreadsheets, Internet, and email) required.
• Experience with SSIS, ADF, SQL/Spark SQL, Databricks, and/or Couchbase is essential.
• Experience with Python, Git, Apache Airflow, and data lakes or warehouses (such as Databricks, Snowflake, and other relevant platforms for data mining and analysis) is desired.
• Experience with healthcare and revenue cycle data.
Requirements
• 10+ years experience querying, validating, and analyzing data in SQL or a similar language.
• 10+ years experience working on data projects, full client data implementations a strong plus.
• 7+ years experience in a client-facing role (serving internal or external customers okay).
• Comfortable working directly with clients, understanding their requirements, and providing effective solutions and insights.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with healthcare clinical data formats and standards; implementing FHIR API integrations and building HL7 v2/v3 interfaces.

• Base pay range is $70,921.24 - $145,934.00 per year.
