About the position The Financial Accounting Analyst Sr. at Elevance Health plays a crucial role in providing technical leadership and setting the strategic direction for various financial projects. This position is integral to managing the close processes, conducting related analysis, and generating comprehensive reporting. The analyst will be responsible for leading teams of associates, ensuring that all financial activities align with the company's objectives and standards. The role involves reviewing and approving journal entries and reconciliations, as well as preparing and reviewing monthly and quarterly financial reports alongside complex analyses. In addition to these responsibilities, the Financial Accounting Analyst Sr. will design research plans for data gathering and analysis, managing projects to meet strict deadlines. This position requires a proactive approach to the initiation and resolution of complex accounting problems, necessitating a high level of technical expertise. Furthermore, the analyst will mentor, train, and coach lower-level accountants, fostering a culture of growth and development within the team. Elevance Health supports a hybrid workplace model, allowing for both remote work and in-office collaboration. Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius or be able to commute within one hour to an Elevance Health location, ensuring accessibility for in-person meetings and teamwork. Nice-to-haves CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred.
