Position Overview ISTA Consulting Engineers is seeking a Finance Manager / Bookkeeper to support our ongoing financial operations. This role combines hands-on bookkeeping with light financial management and reporting. It is ideal for an experienced bookkeeper or junior financial manager who enjoys working fractionally with professional-services firms. This is not a full-time role and does not require daily availability. The focus is accuracy, consistency, and clear financial visibility. Key Responsibilities • Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks Online • Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) • Prepare, issue, and track client invoices • Reconcile bank and credit card accounts • Monitor cash flow and payroll timing • Support month-end close and basic financial reporting • Coordinate with firm leadership and external CPA as needed Job Type & Work Schedule • Part-time, fractional role • Approximately 7–10 hours per week • Hours are flexible and may vary week to week • Workload typically averages 20–30 hours per month Qualifications • Experience as a bookkeeper, finance manager, or similar role • Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Online • Experience supporting professional services firms (engineering, architecture, consulting preferred) • Comfortable working independently and managing deadlines • Strong attention to detail and communication skills • CPA license not required Experience • 2+ years of bookkeeping or financial management experience preferred • Experience with invoicing, reconciliations, and payroll coordination • Familiarity with project-based or time-based billing is a plus Work Location • Fully remote • U.S.-based candidates preferred • No routine in-office requirements Benefits & Perks • Flexible, remote work environment • Consistent part-time workload • Opportunity to grow with a small, stable engineering firm • Direct collaboration with leadership • Low bureaucracy and clear expectations Pay: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour Expected hours: 7.0 – 10.0 per week Benefits: • Flexible schedule • Professional development assistance Work Location: Remote Apply tot his job
