Job Overview
This role is an integral part of the FedEx Strategies Value Stream, working closely with business and technical partners to drive the company's strategic vision. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the interrelationship between the defined FedEx Calculated Value Streams and their impact on the overall FedEx Planned operations strategic business vision. As a Value Stream Business Architect, you will be responsible for expressing and conveying the association between the identified business needs and the developed capabilities of the Value Stream guides, as well as understanding the effect and impact of broader industry and technology trends on the FedEx strategic business vision.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with Portfolio business engineers, business and IT Value Stream owners, IT partners, and other stakeholders to understand and document FXL strategy for a Value Stream, including targeting capabilities, conducting a present status evaluation for relevant reasoning and level of progress effort, and making recommendations on change plan with sequencing.
- Collaborate with Portfolio Business Engineers and Services IT Architects to apply architectural principles to separate FXL Portfolio legends into meaningful capability groupings for the Value Stream teams.
- Lead collaboration efforts with the Business and IT design community to apply architectural principles to translate Value Stream objectives and requirements into meaningful guides for the Value Stream.
- Support the Protected Portfolio Kanban process by further breaking down the portfolio stories during the amazing review and analysis into smaller, Portfolio excess piles of work that can be consumed by SAFe Value Streams.
- Work with the Portfolio Business Designers to synchronize Value Stream execution with the strategic roadmap.
- Contribute to the continued growth in understanding and knowledge of Business Architecture practices, processes, and tools throughout FedEx.
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering, Math, IT systems, or a related discipline that analyzes complex subjects and converts them into smaller, simplified parts.
- At least 2 years of experience in creating business capability maps, taking apart complex ideas, and technical insight to perform the business architecture of an established Value Stream.
- A deep understanding of organizational operations and the broader FedEx enterprise.
Preferred Qualifications
While not essential, the following qualifications are preferred:
- 5 years of experience in a role with demonstrated strategic and technical influence in large organization-wide projects.
- Certification in Business Architecture.
