Essential and Preferred Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a doctoral degree in a language-related discipline, such as Chinese language and linguistics, second language studies, or language pedagogy. They will also have:
- Native or near-native fluency in Chinese and English
- At least two years of experience teaching Chinese language, with a demonstrated track record of success
- A strong research record, with clear potential for or established record of scholarly excellence
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff
- Familiarity with language assessment and ACTFL Proficiency Guidelines (preferred)
