Job Overview
As a Remote Customer Service Representative at blithequark, you will play a vital role in communicating with borrowers regarding federal student loan programs. Your primary responsibilities will include receiving inbound calls, making outbound calls, and providing the highest level of customer service experience. You will be trained to resolve customer inquiries, take loan payments, and provide repayment options to student loan borrowers, ensuring that they receive the support and guidance they need to manage their debt effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to incoming borrower calls, chats, and make outbound calls in a friendly and professional manner, ensuring that all interactions are handled with empathy and understanding.
- Counsel and inform borrowers of their repayment options, deferments, and forbearance eligibility, taking payments and updating the borrower's account in an efficient and accurate manner.
- Locate needed information quickly and minimize the time borrowers are put on hold, ensuring that all queries are resolved promptly and to the borrower's satisfaction.
- Maintain the security and privacy of the borrower, protecting both the borrower and our partners by adhering to strict data protection protocols and guidelines.
- Work an 8-hour shift with a one 1-hour lunch and two 15-minute breaks, ensuring that you are well-rested and focused throughout your working day.
- Demonstrate strong computer skills, including the ability to multitask, type while talking, and navigate our systems with ease.
Qualifications and Requirements

- High school diploma or equivalent, with some college or a bachelor's degree preferred.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment cognitive and personality assessment, which will be administered as part of our recruitment process.
- Must be able to obtain a Federal 5C Security Clearance and credit check, which are mandatory for this role.
- Must live in or near the Dallas-Fort Worth area, as this is a hybrid role that requires occasional in-person attendance.
- Excellent organization, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information in a clear and concise manner.
- Ability to multitask, including typing while talking, and navigate multiple systems and applications with ease.
- Must have access to home internet with at least 10 mg capacity and a router for an ethernet cord, ensuring that you can work efficiently and effectively from home.
- Must have a dedicated location in your home that is free from noise and distractions, allowing you to focus on your work and provide the best possible service to our borrowers.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in customer service, preferably in a remote or call center environment.
