About the Role
As our QA Manager, you will be working closely with developers in various teams, as well as collaborating with Netflix Game Studios and Projects. Your primary responsibility will be to foster a culture of quality throughout our development cycle, ensuring that our games meet the highest standards of excellence. You will be instrumental in shaping the way we work, guiding and mentoring colleagues, and driving the development of our Quality Assurance discipline. Your expertise will be crucial in identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to ensure the start-to-finish quality of our platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and champion the overall quality of our platform, while developing our QA craft, principles, and processes.
- Collaborate with Netflix testing automation teams to expand existing frameworks to support game platform needs, with a focus on automation versus manual testing.
- Teach and evangelize quality assurance principles to our developers, promoting a culture of excellence throughout the organization.
- Advance the execution of projects using suitable frameworks, tools, and procedures, ensuring that our approaches to working, processes, and development culture enable the creation of incredible experiences for game studios.
- Inspire, develop, lead, and mentor QA colleagues to individual and team excellence, recognizing and celebrating successes along the way.
- Lead the charge in recruiting top talent for the Games Platform QA team, identifying and attracting the best candidates in the industry.
- Establish KPIs to evaluate testing efforts and vendor quality, implementing changes as required to ensure continuous improvement.
- Direct requirements gathering and risk identification, covering all related risks and driving all test development activities, including assessment, planning, execution, reporting, and conclusion.
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a strong passion for games and a commitment to quality, as well as:
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- At least 2 years of industry experience in QA, with a minimum of 2 years of experience in active testing in the gaming business.
- At least 2 years of experience leading QA professionals, with a proven track record of driving teams to excellence.
- In-depth knowledge of QA requirements, tools, and processes, as well as technical requirements testing experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in test planning for complex features/systems, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and requirements.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills, with a history of leading individuals and teams.
- Able to juggle multiple priorities and identify what's significant for your discipline and Netflix as an organization.
Preferred Qualifications
While not essential, the following qualifications would be highly desirable:
- Experience from different studios and global environments, with a deep understanding of the gaming industry and its trends.
- Knowledge of testing automation frameworks and tools, with experience in implementing and optimizing automation testing.
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies and version control systems, such as Git.
- Experience with cloud-based gaming platforms and technologies, such as AWS or Google Cloud.
