Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers, providing technical guidance, sharing best practices, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
- Drive current software practices through design reviews and ensure that our services are modular, secure, reliable, diagnosable, and reusable.
- Work on system design through clear interfaces across multiple components, code reviews, and using data/telemetry to inform decisions.
- Improve test coverage for services, organize and implement integration tests, and troubleshoot issues.
- Ensure testability, compactness/scalability, reliability, and usability, and understand when code is ready to be shared and deployed.
- Focus on business needs through a data-driven approach and investigate and promote automation, reliability, and monitoring for deployed products.
- Set the technical vision for data analysis and reporting, aligning with organizational objectives, and provide leadership in directing the overall direction of data analysis technical initiatives.
- Design, develop, and optimize complex data models and reporting structures, driving the design and implementation of flexible and efficient data analysis and reporting architectures.
- Ensure the integrity, security, and performance of data products and reporting solutions by partnering with platforms, data architecture, and service teams.
- Define and implement the long-term technical strategy for data analysis, incorporating innovations and industry trends, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop comprehensive data solutions.
Essential Qualifications
- Demonstrated history with at least 15+ years of hands-on experience in data analysis and reporting roles.
- 5+ years of experience in leadership or senior roles, showing the ability to effectively guide and lead a team.
- 5+ years of experience working with Cloud technologies, such as ADLS, Azure Databricks, Flash, Azure Synapse, Universe DB, DBT, and other big data technologies.
- Exhibited advanced proficiency in data analysis tools, languages, ML, and frameworks (e.g., Conos, PowerBI, SQL, Python, R).
- Proficiency in data visualization tools, such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools to effectively communicate insights.
- Demonstrated ability to work with cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, to architect and implement flexible and efficient data analysis solutions.
- In-depth understanding and practical application of Lakehouse architecture principles, combining the best of data lakes and data warehouses for robust and scalable data management.
- Advanced SQL skills, with a strong understanding of relational databases and business data, and the ability to write complex SQL queries against multiple data sources.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Informatics, Data Science, or a related technical discipline.
- Important industry certifications are a plus.
- Experience in retail, manufacturing, e-commerce, or supply chain management.
