About the Client and the Course
The client is a 12-year-old girl who is eager to learn Chinese from scratch. She is a native English speaker with a beginner's level in Chinese. The course consists of 50 hours of one-to-one lessons, which will be conducted via Zoom video-conference. The ideal candidate will be able to commit to teaching two sessions per week, every Tuesday and Thursday from 6 to 7 p.m. (Utah time, MDT). We are looking for a teacher who can start as soon as possible and is available for the entire duration of the course.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and interactive Chinese lessons to the client via Zoom video-conference
- Prepare tailored lesson plans and materials that cater to the client's learning style and goals
- Provide constructive feedback and encouragement to help the client progress in their language learning journey
- Utilize our proprietary software and tools to facilitate online lessons and track student progress
- Collaborate with our team to ensure the client receives the best possible learning experience
- Participate in training sessions to familiarize yourself with our software and teaching methodologies
Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following essential qualifications:
- Be a native Chinese speaker and/or hold a teaching degree or certificate in Chinese language instruction
- Have experience as an online trainer or teacher, with a proven track record of delivering successful lessons via video-conference
- Be available to teach at the specified times (Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6-7 p.m. MDT) and commit to the entire course duration
- Have your own computer and fast broadband connection at home, with a quiet and dedicated workspace for teaching
- Accept the compensation of $15 per hour
Preferred Qualifications
While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
- Experience teaching Chinese to young learners or beginners
- Familiarity with our proprietary software and tools (training will be provided, but prior experience is a plus)
