Position Overview
- Job Title: Finance Assistant
- Location: West London, Shepherd's Bush
- Salary: £30,000 per annum
- Reporting to: Senior Finance Assistant
- Working Arrangements: Hybrid working with 3 days per week in the office (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)
Key Responsibilities
As a Finance Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the finance team with various tasks and responsibilities. Your key duties will include:
- Reconciling UK online and store sales to ensure accurate postings in Sage 200, maintaining a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Assisting in preparing and posting UK online cash reconciliations across payment platforms, ensuring timely and efficient processing of financial transactions.
- Supporting month-end accounting processes, resolving variances and discrepancies in a proactive and efficient manner.
- Providing ad hoc support to the Senior Finance Assistant, including payment runs and credit card reconciliations, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to assist the team as needed.
- Responding to telephone and email queries in a professional and courteous manner, providing excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
- Minimum 1 year of experience within an accountancy or finance role, demonstrating a solid understanding of financial principles and practices.
- Experience with Sage 200 or Dynamics 365 is preferred, although training can be provided for the right candidate.
- A finance-related degree (Accounting, Economics, Maths) or equivalent, providing a strong foundation in financial concepts and theories.
- Strong Excel skills, which will be tested at the interview stage, demonstrating proficiency in spreadsheet analysis and data management.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively to meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with colleagues and communication with stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
While not essential, the following qualifications and skills are desirable:
- Previous experience in the fashion industry or a similar fast-paced environment, demonstrating adaptability and a willingness to learn.
- Knowledge of other financial software and systems, such as accounting packages or ERP systems, providing a broader understanding of financial operations.
- Part-qualified or qualified accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, etc.), demonstrating a commitment to professional development and continuous learning.
