Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging and challenging lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners
- Provide high-quality instruction in English language arts, with a focus on promoting critical thinking, creativity, and communication skills
- Assess student learning and progress, using data to inform instruction and make data-driven decisions
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum, as well as to share best practices and resources
- Participate in professional development opportunities, including mentoring and coaching, to enhance teaching practices and stay current with industry trends
- Build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to create a positive and supportive learning environment
- Provide individualized support to students, including those with unique needs, to ensure their academic success
- Contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive school culture, through participation in school events and activities
Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- A valid teaching certification and endorsement in English language arts
- A strong background in teaching English language arts, with a focus on promoting critical thinking, creativity, and communication skills
- Experience working with diverse student populations, including those with unique needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
- A commitment to ongoing professional development and a willingness to stay current with industry trends
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
- Experience with project-based learning and innovative teaching practices
- Familiarity with curriculum design and development, including the integration of technology
- A background in teaching English language learners or students with special needs
- Experience with data-driven instruction and assessment
