Workwarp, a leading service-based information security organization, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Defensive Security Analyst to support our Security Operations at a client site within the EU region. As a Defensive Security Analyst, you will play a critical role in managing, monitoring, and enhancing the Security Operations Center (SOC) systems, ensuring the highest level of security and threat protection for our clients. Role Overview and Responsibilities
In this role, you will work closely with client personnel and systems, providing expert support and guidance on security operations, incident response, and digital forensics. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Independently supporting the client in engineering, managing, and monitoring SOC systems
- Providing expertise in incident response activities, including the capture and preservation of system logs, volatile memory captures, and hard drive image captures
- Operating and maintaining a Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) system
- Collaborating with the client to enhance security operations and implement best practices
- Staying up-to-date with the latest cloud architectures, particularly AWS, and providing guidance on cloud security
- Developing and maintaining scripts and tools using programming languages such as PowerShell, Python, and Bash
- Participating in after-hours or weekend work for urgent incident response scenarios
Requirements and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to meet the following requirements:
- Established experience in operating in a SOC environment, either through relevant experience or qualifications
- Knowledge of operating and maintaining a SIEM system
- Familiarity with cloud architectures, particularly AWS
- Experience with programming or scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, and Bash
- Excellent technical skills focused in the security operations space
- Impeccable soft skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and team members
- Well-organized, self-directed individual with the ability to work independently
- Availability to work Monday through Friday, 9AM - 6PM local time, with flexibility to work after-hours or weekends for urgent incident response scenarios
- Must be an EU citizen, residing in the EU
Nice to Have Qualifications
In addition to the requirements, the following qualifications are desirable:
- Experience in penetration testing
- Ability to quickly learn new technologies and stay current with the latest developments in the field
